Symposium on Culturally Relevant Care

On May 5th, 2022, Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services hosted a virtual Symposium on Culturally Relevant Care for Mental Health Week.  The virtual panel discussion featured the following Guest Speakers who brought a perspective on how experiences of race, ethnicity & immigration impact care:

  • Simone Donaldson, MSW, RSW, Clinical Social Worker, Principal Consultant, & Founder of Agapé Lens Consulting and Therapy
  • Neeran Kuni, Director of Urgent Response Services & Adult Supports, SAAAC Autism Centre.
  • Mike Simon, Program Manager, YMCA Immigrant Services, YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford
  • Dr. Mohammad Zubairi, MD, MEd, FRCPC, Developmental Pediatrician, Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre and Associate Professor at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
