Student Placement

Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services provides hands-on learning opportunities for high school, college, and university students. We value our placements students’ expertise, fresh outlook on situations and eagerness to learn.

We accept students from Autism and Behaviour Sciences programs, Social Service Programs, and Child and Youth Workers.

If you are a learner that is interested in seeking a placement opportunity, please contact Irene Richmond, Director of Human Resources for further information.

My practicum experience was very eye-opening with a lot of intense learning. Having two CYW supervisors directly observing me every day allowed me to really focus on where I needed to grow and develop along with providing me opportunities to take part in various trainings, as well as it allowed me have a first-hand learning experience from observing my supervisors lead in the classroom. This setting requires practicum students to be fully engaged throughout the day, supporting the young people with their daily tasks and routines as well as building strong helping relationships with them. In my opinion, there is no better place to learn how to be a child and youth worker than in a Woodview program, especially the Milton Day Treatment Classroom.
