Attendance Record at Woodview Fall Fair 2023!

On Thursday, October 12th, Woodview Mental Health & Autism Services was delighted to host our second Family Fall Fair and Annual General Meeting (AGM).  Thank you to everyone who came out and made it a huge success. Beneath sunny blue skies, we were thrilled to welcome over 270 families, board and community members, and staff to our beautiful head office location at 69 Flatt Road in Burlington.

Our Family Fall Fair celebrated children, youth, adults, and families and it warmed our hearts to see everyone enjoying themselves. Visitors had a great day playing on the bouncy castle, dancing and singing along to live music by Mr. Ben, munching on yummy popcorn, cotton candy, hamburgers, and hot dogs, and participating in a variety of fun-filled games and activities. We were also lucky to host a petting zoo featuring many furry friends, including ponies, goats, llamas, and rabbits thanks to Triple C Farms.

Woodview has always been grateful for generosity of our wonderful donors. The Family Fall Fair provided the perfect opportunity to share our fundraising campaign to upgrade our sensory room, which is used by 80 learners each month between the ages of 2 and 17 years.

At the fair, we unveiled the design concept and wish list of sensory equipment, while guests got the chance to see the wear and tear this room has experienced over four years of regular use. Thank you to everyone who took a break from tasty snacks and fun to visit the room and consider the cause, and to those who ‘tapped to give’ for  the much-needed upgrades.

We would like to thank a few special guests whose presence and support we were honoured to have at the Family Fall Fair. Shoutout to Councillor Kelvin Galbraith of Ward 1 for coming and bringing along his family for the fun. We would also like to express our gratitude to community supporter Wil Ngan from the Rotary Club of Burlington North, as well as Shane Cullis of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. Even Chris Arnold from BurlingtonToday.com came out to cover the event. You can check out his article and photos here. Your support is greatly appreciated by all of us at Woodview.

Big thanks to our incredible staff and volunteers – a.k.a. our “sea of Woodview blue” – who worked very hard to organize such a successful event. Their dedication and attention to detail were clear to all who attended, and we could not be more grateful for their efforts. They continue to go above and beyond.

Thank you  to our donors and sponsors. Because of you, we were able to make this a day to remember, and give out some prizes too!

We also were treated to surprise visits from previous clients who dropped by! It’s  always such a joy to be reunited with those we have served in the past and whose journeys we were so honoured to be a part of; seeing everyone doing so well and flourishing warms our hearts.

See you next year!
