The Manor Program in Hamilton

Sandy Cino, Autism Counsellor, says “on September 1st we celebrated whatever summer we had left with Piña Coladas (virgin-style), some Zumba and a little bit of Limbo dancing!  It was a great evening! We might make Caribbean Night an annual tradition.  The guys also enjoyed a nice walk at the Chedoke Radial Trail on a sunny afternoon. We got our steps in and enjoyed a cool treat afterwards!”

L.I.F.E. Program in Hamilton

Jennalee Palladino, Autism Counsellor, says, “the L.I.F.E. program has been up to many fun things this summer! We’ve had a SPLASHING good time beating the heat by using splash pads around Hamilton. We’ve been soakin’ up the summer sun with friends and enjoyed picnics in the park! Back at the program we LAVA our puns and have been having a BLAST making papier-mâché Volcanos! We used recycled scrap paper and tissue paper to create our colourful volcanoes. When we’re not busy causing explosions, we are making things that are to DYE for. L.I.F.E added some colour to the world by making TIE DYE t-shirts, we explored our creative side and enjoyed making various patterns and mixing colours!”

Respite Program in Brantford

Christina Ferrell, Respite Coordinator, writes “July and August 2021 were a blast! The Brantford Respite team ran 8 weeks of camp for children and youth between the ages of 5 to 14. Our groups enjoyed crafts, team games, swimming, splashpads, playgrounds, fishing and so much more!  This summer was an amazing success and we were able to support 56 clients by providing each of them with one week camp. Parents and participants were appreciative of the opportunity to have this experience, especially coming out of a very challenging year. Over the 8 weeks friendships were developed, new experiences were had and tears were shed when the week was over. Our team is looking forward to doing it all again next year.”

Camp CARE in Burlington

Lindsey Court, Program Manager shared a last-day-of-camp snapshot of Camp CARE staff and says “they’re going to miss the kiddos! Campers made new friends & enjoyed loads of fun outdoor and indoor recreational activities” 🍉  See you next summer!  #CampLife
