Caregiver Supports

Are Caregiver Supports right for you?

If your child or teen has a mental health concern, you’re not alone — and support is available. We know that when caregivers feel informed, supported, and confident, it can make a big difference in a child’s mental health journey.

Caregiver supports can help you better understand your child’s needs, build a strong and caring home environment, and find ways to manage life’s ups and downs together. Whether you are involved in the child’s therapy sessions or treatment plans, we’ll work with you to make sure you feel supported every step of the way.

What do Caregiver Supports focus on?

Education and Training

Learn more about your child’s mental health through helpful resources that explain symptoms, treatment options, and coping tools. Feeling informed helps you feel more confident as a caregiver.

Therapy and Counselling

Some programs offer counselling for caregivers, giving you space to manage stress, build communication skills, and develop strategies to support your child — and yourself.

Peer Support Groups

Connect with other parents and caregivers who are walking a similar path. Share stories, exchange tips, and feel less alone. Link to PCMH & Caregiver Connections Flyer or could we create a new page for Caregiver Connections?

Respite Care

Taking care of yourself is just as important. Respite services offer short-term breaks from caregiving, helping you recharge and reduce stress.

Behavioural Strategies

Learn practical tools like positive reinforcement, behaviour management, and conflict resolution to help support your child more effectively at home.

Access to Resources

Need help navigating mental health services, school supports, or therapy options? We’re
here to connect you with the right resources at the right time.
