Board of Directors

Woodview is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors selected from the communities of Halton, Hamilton, and Brantford. Their broad range of skills and experience contribute towards effectively governing the organization in a timely, transparent, and accountable manner.



Lee Helmer

Lee joined our Board of Directors in 2012. Lee retired in 2014 from his position as Director of North Halton Supports and T.E.A.C.H; a peer support program with Support & Housing. Following his retirement, Lee chaired the Governance/ Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors of Support & Housing. Lee’s 20+ years of senior management experience is a valued asset of our Board. Lee has been involved in a number of not-for-profit committees, including the Mississauga / Halton LHIN. He is the Woodview liaison with youth.

Vice Chair

Debora Hume

Debora joined our Board of Directors in 2010, and became our Vice Chair in November 2014. Debora is the Vice President of Lottery Operations for the OLG. Debora has extensive experience leading and working in organizations undergoing substantial transformation. The positions she has held, together with her current role at OLG, have given her significant experience in providing strategic direction and operational advice to large and diverse teams. Debora’s leadership and strategic planning expertise greatly benefit our Board.


Linda Bullock

Linda joined our Board of Directors in 2015 after her retirement from 37 years of service at RBC. Linda brings extensive knowledge and financial expertise to the Board, developed throughout her career working in strategic planning, operations, and commercial banking. Linda has previously volunteered with the Hamilton Emergency Loan program, Chedoke McMaster Children’s Hospital, Kiwanis, and the Children’s Breakfast Program.


Sandra Karpis

Sandra, a CHRE designated Human Resource professional with 25 years’ experience, joined our Board of Directors in 2016. Sandra has been a member of the Human Resources Professionals Association since ’96 and is Vice President of Human Resources at CI Financial. Sandra is the Program Coordinator and a Mentor for CI Financial’s Women in Financial Services Mentoring Program and also volunteers as a mentor in HRPA’s mentoring program.


Michelle Barr

Michelle joined our Board of Directors in 2016, bringing with her a commitment to client advocacy, development, and success. Her broad understanding of autism and previous experience as a consultant at McMaster University working with children and youth with ASD greatly benefits the Board. Michelle works as a resource coordinator at Contact Niagara and a learning strategist at Mohawk College.


Dwain Burns

Dwain joined our Board of Directors in 2017. Dwain brings a variety of legal, not-for-profit, and governance experience to our Board, having been a member of the Board of Directors and past chair of the Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club. He participates actively in the community as a youth leader and fundraiser for various organizations. Dwain’s 20+ years of experience as a civil lawyer greatly complement our Board of Directors.


Lynn Wilson

Lynn joined our Board of Directors in 2018, having recently retired from a 34-year career at Ernst & Young. Lynn holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree, a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, a Masters of Adult Education, and a Certificate in Intercultural Studies. Lynn’s career and personal focus on inclusiveness, learning, teamwork, and employee engagement greatly benefit Woodview’s board and strategic planning initiatives.


Sherri Lojzer

Sherri joined our Board of Directors in 2019. Sherri’s experience as a corporate leader and a business owner brings a rounded perspective to leadership and to Woodview’s Board. With a unique set of skills and practical experiences Sherri brings insights to the leadership development of individuals and leaders through understanding, proven models, hands-on experience and targeted training as Founder and professional coach at Mindwave Coaching. Sherri’s combined experience in leadership development, communications and marketing, strategic planning, and previous Board experience is a valued asset to the Board.


Robyn Gravelle

Robyn joined our Board of Directors in 2019. Robyn works as part of the Management team within Infrastructure Planning & Policy at Halton Region, with previous policy and program administration experience in Housing Services and Public Health at Halton Region. Robyn’s Board experience includes Chairing a Regional Childcare Centre Parent Involvement Group, communications lead for Halton Region Employees United Way Committee, as well as volunteer fundraising roles in the community, and is a Public Member on the Council of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario.


Jane Lemke

Jane joined our Board of Directors in 2019. She is a retired health care professional, consultant, and educator having taught in diploma, baccalaureate, and master’s degree programs. Jane has prior experience on four Boards of Directors including terms as President of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Occupational Health Nurses Association (This stew) and Halton Adolescent Support Services (HASS). Jane brings experience in governance, policy development, strategic planning, leadership, and mental health to Woodview’s Board.


Neelam Bhella

Neelam joined our Board of Directors in 2019. Neelam has volunteered in the Halton community with Halton Police Toys for Tots, Sound of Music Festival, the local food bank, as well as in many different roles within her children’s elementary school and school parent council events. Neelam is committed to increasing mental health education and awareness in the community.
