Improved Mental Health Care, takes effect today at Woodview.

Starting TODAY, mandate delivers: Right Care, Right Time, Right Place for children, youth and families.

October 31st, 2023 – BRANTFORD – The mental health evolution continues. At Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services we are improving the way in which families get to us, and are addressing wait list issues that have long plagued the system. This change, delivers a more positive experience for the children, youth and families we serve.

Woodview has listened closely to what families have been saying. They’ve told us about the struggles they were having getting care. As a result, adjustments have been made to improve the experience for Brantford families, ensuring they get the support they need and deserve, seamlessly and sooner.

Our goal is to create a child and youth mental health system that makes sense to those who use it. And here is how we are doing it, effective October 31st, 2023.

If your child/youth is under 18, living in Brantford-Brant, and needs mental health services, you now connect with Woodview directly by phone, text, or through our website.

“We are really excited about this change.  Thanks to a funding reallocation from the Ministry of Health, we’ve been able to hire extra clinical staff who can help kids sooner. We’ve been working hard to make this transition happen, and now we’re all set to improve mental health care in our community.” – Flora Ennis, Executive Director – Woodview.

“From a family and youth perspective, this change will bring clarity and peace of mind in the middle of difficult life circumstances. One call allows families to get the supports they need, when they need them.” Nicki Straza, Youth and Family Engagement Lead – Woodview.

Starting October 31st, to access mental health care for your child (under 18) contact Woodview directly.

Note: System shifts are happening elsewhere too

Woodview Autism and Mental Health Services, along with Pathstone Mental Health in Niagara are both undergoing this system shift (October 31st, 2023). In January, 2024, Lynwood Charlton Centre in Hamilton will adopt this system shift as well.
