Brantford Adolescent Day Treatment Program

What are Day Treatment Programs?

Brantford’s Adolescent Day Treatment (ADT) Program supports youth aged 13 to 18 who are struggling with mental health challenges and are not currently attending school.

ADT takes place at Pauline Johnson Collegiate & Vocational School in partnership with the Grand Erie District School Board.

The Adolescent Day Treatment program has two classrooms and can support up to 12 youth. It runs year-round and offers additional support opportunities in the summer.

What is the focus of the day treatment programs?

The Adolescent Day Treatment Program helps youth build skills to manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health or social challenges that make it hard to attend school or enjoy daily life.

The program also offers schoolwork that matches each student’s abilities.

The goal is to help youth return to regular classes when they feel better and can handle school successfully.

ADT offers youth:

  • individual and family counselling;
  • parenting strategies and support;
  • recreational activities;
  • experiences to improve the child’s/youth’s social skills; and
  • experiences to improve the child’s/youth’s peer relationships.
Is the adolescent program right for your child?

The teen years can be a challenging time for young people. Many deal with depression and anxiety. If the youth in your care exhibits any of the following, the Day Treatment program can help.

  • Is the youth experiencing social and emotional challenges in a regular school setting?
  • Are you being pressured by school staff to find help for the youth?
  • Is the youth struggling with attending school on a regular basis?

Did you answer “yes” to one or more of the questions above? If so, Woodview’s Adolescent Day Treatment program may be able to help.

No cost

They helped my son develop strategies to get past his anxiety. There was a lot of one on one time with my son and always cheering him on with every little step he took to be fully integrated into high school. I would not change a thing.

Parent

I liked that my child’s worker was so helpful and willing to help both myself and my daughter.

Parent

Everyone is nice, the students, the workers/staff, but I like the program in general.

Youth

What I enjoyed the most about the program was the support I got from the staff.

Youth

We are grateful to the Knights of Columbus Council #1679 in Brantford for their ongoing support of Woodview’s ADT.  Be sure to attend their annual charity breakfast in support of our summer programming!
