Mental Health Week 2022 Kick-Off!
Mental Health Week 2022 has been kicked off in style! Thank you City of Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis and County of Brant Mayor Bailey for your support, to all our wonderful community partners, and to all of YOU who braved the drizzle and cool temps to get loud for mental health! Woodview is proud to be a part of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Mental Health Week Planning Committe and thanks all our partners for their invaluable support.
STRIVE Awards Presentation
The Canadian Mental Health Association Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk Branch and Woodview presented the 12th annual STRIVE awards to recognize individuals who strive for wellness with:
Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services established a Memorial Scholarship Fund in loving memory of Jen Brown, a staff member, who advocated for others to be heard and accomplish their dreams. The inaugural scholarship winner receives a $1,500 educational award for their post-secondary studies. Learn more about the Jen Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Youth Fundraiser: Sensory Backpacks
Woodview’s youth engagement group, Fortitude Youth Initiative, worked hard on an exciting new project that will provide children and youth in the community with sensory backpacks to support mental wellness! We invite everyone to support them by sponsoring a backpack for children and youth in need! Suggested donation: $25 per backpack. Special thanks to The New Mentality, Value Village and Tailor Aide for contributing to the Sensory Backpack Project!
Community Resource Fair!
The community was able to visit agency booths to learn more about the mental health resources available in the area. Thank you to everyone who participated!
