Lorraine Jeffrey's Retirement Pot-Luck Party!
Festivities took place at Woodview’s Head Office in Burlington (69 Flatt Road), in the gymnasium, a place that holds special memories for Lorraine including school concerts, Christmas parties, and her favourite, ‘Olympic Day’ (from years past).
Flora Ennis, Executive Director, and Wendy Caron, Program Manager (YODA, DANO, Mountaineer & WHCO), co-emceed the evening and shared many highlights of Lorraine’s impressive 26-year career at Woodview, including Lorraine having led the agency to achieve a perfect score for accreditation, championing equity, diversity and inclusion, her unwavering advocacy and much more. It was summed up in the Top 5 ‘Lorraine-isms’ (a.k.a. things that Lorraine has taught us)!
In her farewell remarks, Lorraine thanked her partner Gustavo, her daughters Carli and Emily and family. She extended thanks to her Woodview family, its leadership team, community partners, and retired staff members, many of whom were in attendance.
Lorraine topped of the evening by shining the spotlight on Woodview staff saying, “it is you that do the work each an every day. It is you that support the children, youth, families, and adults we serve. It is you that carry us forward each and every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do.” 💕
Thank you to Lindsey Court and the planning team for transforming the gym into a lovely tropical setting, and to everyone who contributed such a scrumptious feast of culinary delights! 🤩
