School Readiness (Ages 0-12)

What is the School Readiness Program?

The School Readiness program is a part of the pathway of services offered through Woodview’s Halton Autism Services.  This program provides a bridge between Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) and the Woodview Learning Centre or your child returning to their home school full-time.

The program offers three learning ratios to meet the learning needs of your child by providing appropriate levels of support (re-evaluated at the end of each three month block/term).

Is the School Readiness program right for your child?

The School Readiness program at Woodview can help if your child is 0-12 years old and would benefit from learning or improving:

  • skills such as paying attention to an instructor
  • raising their hand to answer a question
  • waiting their turn to answer a question
  • completing worksheets; and
  • working independently and within a group
What is the focus of the School Readiness Program?

Everyday children will have the opportunity to learn through smart board group and individual activities, independent work activities, and large and small group learning activities.

Each week focuses on a new learning experience through the use of science, math, language, and art activities.

Each group of children are supervised by one of our Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) Clinical Supervisors and receives instruction from our Autism Therapists.

What are the group ratios available in the School Readiness Program?

The School Readiness program offers group ratios of 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3.  Placement in one of these group ratios is determined based on the completion of a comprehensive intake.
