Social Worker (Day Treatment)

This position is in an adolescent day treatment setting for secondary school students experiencing significant mood disorders. The successful candidate will be working with staff from both programs and will be providing services at both sites. This position requires working two evenings per week.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Provide family therapy
  • Case management
  • Facilitate DBT Skills Group for Parents (evening)
  • Manage inquiries, referrals, program screening interviews and intakes for all clients
  • Schedule, manage and chair quarterly case conferences
  • Participate in daily debriefings with teams
  • Assist in program delivery in classroom when needed
  • Act as liaison with community services and agencies as determined
  • Maintain all records as required by the agency’s policies and procedures
  • Represent the agency at Community Wellness / Mental Health days as determined
  • BSW or MSW and registration in OCSWSSW or Masters in a related field and membership in the CRPO.
  • Able to successfully develop strong and collaborative relationships with team members, families, clients, staff
  • Knowledge and sound experience with treatment planning, therapeutic approaches, case management
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Valid driver’s license and daily use of reliable vehicle
  • Current valid police check
  • Training in CALOCUS, InterRAI , CBT and DBT are assets
