Position Summary

Woodview’s Adult Autism Programs are currently seeking a qualified and skilled individual to deliver a variety of services based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and in compliance with Ministry standards and requirements. This position provides oversight to the adult residential, supported independent living, passport and community participation programs. Services are focused on skills development in the areas of:

  1. Vocational Skills
  2. Life Skills
  3. Communication
  4. Social Skills
  5. Behaviour Management/Emotional Regulation
Job Responsibilities

The Program Manager is responsible for the operation and development of the residential programs (group living and supported independent living), Passport services and community participation programs. 

Additional responsibilities include

  • Facilitating regular program evaluation and review, including monitoring, evaluating and implementing modifications to service delivery model to ensure best practices are followed
  • Providing strong leadership and direction in the development, expansion and implementation of programs and individual client support
  • Working collaboratively with individuals and families to identify goals
  • Leads the creation and implementation of individualized behaviour and skill development programs to match funding
  • Ensuring the program’s operating practices conform to the Agency’s Policies and Procedures as well as to all legislation, regulations, licensing requirements and guidelines
  • Hiring, supervising, supporting and evaluating staff
  • generating and overseeing staff scheduling, including payroll authorizations
  • Collaborating and coordinating with the Day supports / Children’s Program Manager as well as other community services and agencies to ensure optimal service delivery
  • Overseeing the expenditure of program funds and annual budgets

In addition to the above, key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Collecting and collating data
  • Completion of MCCSS reporting templates
  • Provide direct support to clients
  • Communicating with work contractors
  • Developing and implementing Individual Support Plans (ISP) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), recording and maintaining relevant notes, tracking client progress and other relevant data
  • Communicating and collaborating with families, as well as a variety of professionals, community agencies, and MCCSS (ex. Psychiatrists, ODSP, DSO, etc.)
  • Committing to ongoing training and growth in the field of Autism
  • Working a variety of hours, including days, evenings and occasional weekends as well as bimonthly on call availability
  • Diploma or Degree from a recognized community college or university in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, or equivalent, and specific professional knowledge and experience working with individuals with ASD is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience applying the principles of ABA
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience using client-centered model of support
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management
  • Current certification in first aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention would be an asset
  • Must have a valid G license and the ability to drive agency vehicles, as well as, carry clients in their own personal vehicle
  • F Class license an asset
