Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates personal qualities that lead and guide the direction of the school i.e., dependable, highly committed to task completion, establishes and maintains positive working relationship with all WLC staff, students and families demonstrates professionalism, is positive and enthusiastic, demonstrates leadership / mentoring qualities, etc.
  • Coordinates, facilitates and leads weekly team meetings.
  • Acts as liaison for clients with other internal/external professionals – Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists etc.
  • Interviewing and hiring of all Staff when required, in conjunction with WLC staff members
  • Responsible for transitioning students out of the WLC program, as well as, transitioning new students into the school year.
  • Finances i.e. Budget: i.e. classroom consumables, programs, support materials, technological supplies, special programs and events, managing grants
  • Initiates, plans, and maintains all administrative needs.
  • Facilitates parent/teacher meetings which includes report card review meetings.
  • Takes all interested parents on school tours and establishes the steps for admission of new children, follows up with families, etc.
  • Chairs and Heads school functions i.e., Grad
  • To provide educational/autism consultation, resources and professional development to the WLC Team. To assist in student evaluation and curriculum programming. To provide overall school problem solving and strategizing.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma/Degree in the field of Education, Behavioral Sciences or equivalent in education and experience and professional training deemed acceptable to serve the needs of the client population.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as, excellent planning, organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of and be able to implement strength-based and evidence-based practices using ABA principles and procedures within their clinical service programs.
  • A minimum of 2 years – demonstrated leadership experience would be an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license (G class) and required insurance coverage.
