Woodview’s Ontario Autism Program is currently seeking a qualified, skilled and experienced individual to oversee the delivery of community and centre-based OAP services in Halton. This position is a full-time 6 month contract position. The immediate start date for this position is July 29, 2019.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Participate in client assessment and treatment planning activities.
  • Recommend appropriate service intensity based on intake assessment that is family centered and developmentally/clinically suitable for the child.
  • Conduct all aspects required for regular program reviews of clinical services for each client on caseload.
  • Provide supervision to Instructor Therapists and ABA Therapists on a 1:1 level, including observations during center and home sessions.
  • Develop Behaviour Plans for each child and family outlining individual goals and progress.
  • Create, monitor and revise programming for clients and parent coaching.
  • Ensure clinical and other case-level and program-level recording is completed accurately and reliably.
  • Collect data from Instructor Therapists and ABA Therapists and provide appropriated summaries required to measure the effectiveness of the programming.
  • Provide parent coaching in centre, the home, and the community.
  • Consult with Clinical Psychologist on an as needed basis.
  • Provide one-on-one training or workshops for community service providers in Autism and the principles and strategies of Applied Behaviour Analysis.
  • Collaborate with Family Support Worker (FSW) to ensure family needs are met and supported (i.e. mental health, service navigation and additional community resources).
  • Contribute to, in conjunction with the Program Manager, the performance evaluations of instructor Therapists and ABA Therapists.
  • Collaborate with EAs, Teachers, SERTS, and Principles in the Halton Public and Catholic School Board to deliver services to clients decreasing their time in OAP services and increasing time in the school setting.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s level graduate degree in psychology or a related field (or working towards this).
  • BCBA Certification.
  • Must qualify for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Provider List by demonstrating they meet the qualification requirements, as set by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (Including at least 3,000 hours post-certification/registration experience).
  • Minimum one year direct clinical and supervisory experience in an ABA based Program in center and/or in community.
  • An understanding of child development and the impact of autism on the development of behavioural, communication and social skills in preschoolers with autism.
  • A solid understanding of behavioural principals.
  • Experience developing Behaviour Plans, supporting staff, conducting assessments, and delivering staff coaching.
  • Familiarity with the OAP mandate and requirements for service.
  • Experience collaborating with Halton Public and Catholic School Boards personnel (i.e. EAs, SERTs, Teachers, Principles, etc.) to transfer knowledge from programs to school staff.
  • Experience in program development, curriculum modification and working on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to train others in the ABA principles.
  • Able to accommodate a flexible schedule that is inclusive of evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
