Day Treatment Programs Halton
What are the Day Treatment Programs?
The Day Treatment programs provide a comprehensive therapeutic school-based program in partnership with the Halton District School Board. Services are provided to children ages 6 to 12 in the elementary program and youth in grades 9 to 12 in the high school programs.
Services are for children and youth who are experiencing significant social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties and have difficulty managing in a regular school setting. The child or youth may also be experiencing difficulties at home and/or in the community.
Services are provided to both the child and family. The ultimate goal is to reintegrate the student successfully to an appropriate setting whether that may be his/her home school or an alternate school.
The programs focus on:
- Social skills
- Peer relationships
- Individualized educational plan
- Individual and family counseling
- Parenting strategies and support
- Recreational activities
