Job Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):

The ideal candidate for this role will have precious experience with accounts receivable and collections, as well as general ledger (G/L) account reconciliation. The main responsibilities of this position will be preparing and processing monthly customer accounts, as well as assisting the Halton and Brantford Autism Fee for Service Programs with their accounting needs.  This will include:

  • preparing and processing monthly customer invoices and processing related payments;
  • following up on outstanding accounts and responding to customer enquiries;
  • assisting customers by providing documents necessary for expense reimbursement;
  • assisting Program Managers with the compilation of billing information; and
  • the preparation of ad hoc reports related to program revenue and cash flow. 

This role will play an important role in providing service to internal and external clients, answering questions, and co-ordinate billing as it relates to their account.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within small teams/departments who understand each other’s roles to have the full picture of accounting within Woodview.

Other duties will include:

  • Assisting with month end account reconciliation and preparation of working papers and journal entries
  • One-time funding tracking and reconciliation
  • Assisting and preparing for interim/year-end audits
  • Assisting other accountants as necessary – accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll
  • Diploma in accounting, minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to dive in and problem solve
  • Sage 300 experience  an asset
  • Non-profit accounting experience an asset
